Just finished the last message in our current series on Revival/Awakening and just started working on our next sermon series. It will be on the Cross. I can't wait, I am so excited. It is going to a great series!!!!

I just returned from the Empowered21 Asia Congress in Jakarta, Indonesia. Forty-nine nations were represented, 8,500 people registered, and 14,000 attended as the evening meetings were open to several thousand locals each night. It was historic that 600 leaders from Mainland China attended—the largest delegation to ever attend a Christian congress beyond the borders of China.

A major goal of the Empowered21 movement is to re-waken the church to our desperate need for Holy Spirit empowerment—to reap the harvest and bring kingdom transformation.

In Jakarta I was moved by the hunger and passion for God. The worship was unbridled. Creative expressions in drama, dance and music abounded. The 11,200-seat conference/worship center was tasteful and a tribute to excellence—fit for the kingdom. Asian expressions of faith may actually be more cutting edge than most of what we see in the West.

The sessions were planned, but clearly not scripted. Room was given for Spirit-directed spontaneity. In several sessions attendees were challenged to come and be prayed for—whether for a more Spirit-filled life, healing or freedom from demonic oppression. In the various tracks during the day more practical and interactive instruction was offered.

The eight tracks revolved around the following themes:
• Empowered by the Holy Spirit
• Empowered Leadership for Today
• Empowered for Missions
• Empowered Transformation
• Empowering New Generations
• Empowered Foundations of the Holy Spirit
• Empowered to Pray
• Empowered Worship

If there was ever a time we needed the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit, it’s now. One crisis after another is shaking the globe. Human methods are failing miserably in the face of the immensity and complexity of the problems.

Holy Spirit intervention is what the world needs now.

In recent decades the western church, including “Pentecostal/Charismatic” versions, has kept a short leash on the Holy Spirit. The result? Virtually zero growth and little societal transformation. On the other hand, in the two-thirds world, where the Holy Spirit has been allowed to operate unhindered, there has been exceptional growth and sizable impact beyond church walls.

A coincidence?

The apostle Paul had very little confidence in his human ability. So aware of his weakness He depended on supernatural Holy Spirit power. He said to the Corinthians: “I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God” (1 Cor. 2:3-5)

Sadly, just when our postmodernist Western society is celebrating the supernatural, most of our churches in the west are still stuck in an outmoded modernism. We explain and make truth accessible intellectually; but in the process we have cut out the heart of personal experience and transcendence.

Intentions are usually good. We want seekers to become finders. But we forget that what our generation is really seeking is not only truth, but truth that will set them free.

The Holy Spirit not only blows where He wills, but where He is welcomed. In Jakarta He was invited as an honored guest—and He came.

A distinctive characteristic of Empowered21 is the goal to pass the torch of Holy Spirit empowerment to the next generations—a missing dimension in Pentecostal/Charismatic circles during the past few decades. But at Empowered21 Asia we saw a high number of young people. They came ready to experience their own Pentecost and many left filled and overflowing.

For me, the Empowered 21 Asia Congress was a burst of new oxygen in my lungs.

May the 21st Century be the Century of the Holy Spirit—not only in Asia, but around the globe.

The father would bring us a word of correction.

Do not be as one who looks at himself in the mirror, sees truth, then turns away, forgetting what has been seen, and does not act on it.

The Father is asking us to search our hearts for those things that are not pleasing to him. To lift up our hands in surrender. To open our hearts and ask for correction. To open our Thinking to him, and ask him to correct us. To correct us in Mind Soul and Spirit. (Psalm 139:23)

To give him permission to reveal our hearts.  To let him show us the things in us. Those things that we hide from even ourselves, that even we do not want to look at. 

Correction must come to our land. But first it must start come and begin in the church. It must begin in us before the world can be corrected. 

Let Me wash and correct You.

Cry out for correction in your own heart. Your must hold your heart open and allow me to show you truth and wash you.

It will be rich for I will come to you and commune with you in ways that you have not known.  If you refuse me, you will lose out.  Do not think that I do not see, and that I do not hear. 

Do not wound me.

Be careful how you live and walk.

I will come in a time that you do not think.

I am a God of Love, Righteousness, Justice, Purity.

I am your God.

²⁴ The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. After them another king will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings. ²⁵ He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws. The holy people will be delivered into his hands for a time, times and half a time.

²⁶ “ ‘But the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever.
²⁷ Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be handed over to the holy people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.’

Adrienne gave a good word from the Lord on Sunday Jan.1, 2012. I am making it available to all of us so we can read it and mediate on it.  

"I want you to know that I love you passionately!  The power of My love is what will sustain you.  If you allow Me to lift you up, you will breathe from a different place and My Spirit will open things for you that you have never seen or understood before.  It will come from a different atmosphere… the atmosphere of heaven…like an oxygen surge from My Spirit, and you will see things differently.  As the old year passes, let the things of the past go.  You are entering into a new season and how you have done things in the past will not be effective for what I desire to do in the new.

Put your hand in Mine and let Me lead you into a new place in Me!!  Every obstacle will come down as you trust Me!  I will make your vision clear.

Don’t despise small beginnings and don’t despise the process you have been going through, because it is the process that will bring you into your future.

On a daily basis, I am releasing signs and wonders in the earth and in the sky if you will look and see.  Open your eyes like a child and see the love of God all around you." 

New Series for January 2012 – “Encountering God for Spiritual Awakening”

It's a sacred experience - the drawing near of the Holy Spirit to the
people of God. He quickens the human spirit and inspires worship. He
makes prayer exciting, preaching dynamic, and Christian service
focused and powerful.

Yet, revival is undoubtedly needed in the church today. Our culture
desperately needs a spiritual awakening. And God is waiting for a
people who will cry out to Him for it.

Join us in January as we come face-to-face with the truth of the
Scriptures and conviction of the Holy Spirit. By exploring the
gracious nature of God and the wandering habits of the human heart, we
will be called and challenged to return to Him. But not just for
ourselves personally. We will learn together how God wants to use each
of us as a catalyst for revival and spiritual awakening in our church
and in our city.
